The Chinkapin

​In February 2026 Isle of Raasay Distillery launch an exciting new global release, set to join The Draam and Dùn Cana in their core whisky line up.

Chinkapin oak, also known as Quercus muehlenbergii, has been part of Raasay's whisky story since day one, forming part of their six cask recipe for The Draam. This specific type of oak is not often used in the whisky industry, thus the team at Raasay like to think of it as their special 'super power'.
