Filled With Wonder

In 2019 Glasgow agency Bright Signals asked World Headquarters to help them create Edinburgh Gin's first ever TV spot.

Working from a strong strategic positioning based around 'natural wonder', we wrote several scripts which explored the key brand themes of natural ingredients, Edinburgh as the 'urban eden' and the all-important wonderful taste.

But one script was the clear winner - for ourselves at WHQ, for Bright Signals and for the client. Of course, it was the most ambitious, most challenging and most bonkers script of them all.

Following a very rigorous pitching process, we engaged world-class visual effects company Glassworks to produce the TVC, under the direction of special effects expert Duncan Malcolm. Duncan and his Glassworks team went all in and somehow managed to deliver exactly what they'd promised in their pitch.

Music is incredibly important to us at WHQ, and we're very thankful that we ended up being able to use the very track that we'd originally proposed along with the script, the majestic 'The Night' by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. Huge thanks go to the team at Bright Signals for all their effort in making that happen.

World Headquarters also conceived and art directed the accompanying Out Of Home posters in collaboration with Bright Signals.

All commercial goals were exceeded. Spontaneous awareness doubled and consideration leapt from 15% to 35%.
